Annual Budgets

The Fiscal Year budget for the City of Smithville, in effect from October 1st to September 30th, provides details on property tax rates, long-term debt obligations, the General Fund, the Utility Fund, and expenses for the city's 16 departments.

The report details revenues and expenses and shows comparisons to last year's budget.

The Annual Financial Report shows the Independent Auditor's Report on Internal Control over Financial Reporting and on Compliance and other matters based on an Audit of Financial Statements Performed in accordance with government auditing standards.

Debt Obligation Reporting

In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 1378 to increase local government debt transparency. This bill requires all subdivisions of state government to annually compile their debt obligation data for public access.
