Water Issue in Downtown Business District

TXDOT hit an 8-inch water main at the intersection of Loop 230 and Main Street late yesterday evening. City crews and TXDOT are in the process of repairing the broken water main. During the next 4-6 hours, residents and business owners in the downtown area may experience low water pressure and/or brownish water. Should this occur, run the faucet for 2-3 minutes until the water clears. The brown color is from sediment and/or rust in the line and does not represent a significant health risk. There is no need to boil water. The City will update this message as conditions warrant. For additional information, please contact City Hall at (512) 237-3282.
