Traffic Delays Expected – BP MS-150 (April 30, 2017)
Expect traffic delays on Hwy 71 and FM 153 in Smithville due to the annual BP MS-150 Fundraiser bike ride from Houston to Austin on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Delays will be heaviest from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. The BP MS 150 is a two-day fundraising bike ride organized by the National MS Society (South Central Region). The BP MS 150 is the largest of the 100 Bike MS events in the United States with 11,000 cyclists and 3,000 volunteers with countless spectators along the route and at the finish line in Austin. The fundraising goal for the 2017 BP MS 150 is $16 million dollars. This will help fund research and services for the 2.3 million people worldwide living with multiple sclerosis. PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY and yield to cyclists.
