GOLF CARTS

~PLEASE make sure that these golf cart rules are being followed.

 

~Golf Cart Ordinance - Beginning August ,1 2014 golf cart drivers must register their carts with the City of Smithville. You must be 18 years of age, have a valid Texas Driver’s License and your cart must be properly insured. Once you have registered your golf cart you will be given a registration form to take to the Smithville Police Department where they will inspect your cart and issue a permit. The permit is good for two years. Please know that golf carts can only be used by licensed drivers over the age of 18 and driven on two lane roadways with a maximum speed of 30 mph. Carts are to follow traffic laws and city rules. Any golf cart in violation of the golf cart rules can result in a fine up to $500 and a traffic citation.
