CITY OF SMITHVILLE OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL 10:00 AM FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2022 DUE TO THE WEATHER
The National Weather Service is predicting 100% chance of sleet and freezing rain tomorrow. Overpasses and bridges are expected to freeze and could be covered with ice until Friday morning. For everyone's SAFETY, driving around town should be limited to law enforcement and emergency response personnel only. Smithville ISD has cancelled classes Thursday. City garbage services will “shift” one day. City Offices will remain CLOSED until Friday at 10:00 am. In the meantime, call Dispatch at (512) 237-3228 to report power outages or other non-emergency issues. For emergencies, DIAL 911. We will re-evaluate the situation and make any changes as conditions warrant. Stay home, stay warm, and STAY SAFE!!!
