CITY OF SMITHVILLE OFFICES CLOSED UNITL February 18, 2021 (10:00 am)

The City of Smithville Offices will be CLOSED until Thursday, February 18, 2021 due to the weather.  We received 4-6 inches of snow overnight.  ERCOT has implemented rolling blackouts across central Texas to help alleviate the current statewide energy demand.  Fortunately, we have not had any major power outages.  So, please continue individual conservation efforts.

Roads throughout town are covered with 4-6 inches of snow and beneath the snow is ICE.  Temperatures are not expected to get above freezing.  For everyone's SAFETY, driving around town should be limited to law enforcement and emergency response personnel only.

Garbage service is still postponed until further notice.  Smithville ISD has cancelled classes until Thursday.  Similarly, all City Offices remain CLOSED until Thursday at 10:00 am.  We will re-evaluate the situation and make any changes as conditions warrant.  Stay home, stay warm, and STAY SAFE!!!
