Community Engagement Coordinator

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for communications and activities that facilitate a robust community engagement strategy for the City of Smithville, with a particular focus on building relationships and trust with community members, volunteers, local community partners and service providers. The Community Engagement Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Economic Development/Grants Administration, and will work closely with Department Heads to assist in the overall coordination of services and opportunities to ensure adherence to the organization mission and values of authentic community engagement, capacity building, public participation and multi-directional communication of information. Job duties generally are associated with 1) communications, 2) public participation and engagement, 3) assessment and continuous quality improvement. Part-Time Meter Reader / Service Technician $15.45/HR

Under general supervision, reads consumer water and electrical meters as needed, and records readings on meter booklet or provided form. Able to run Windows based programs.  Run computer programs0, repair / replace meter components, work with handheld trouble-shooting meters and equipment. Assists Utilities Clerk as needed and performs related work as required. High School Diploma or GED, Texas Drivers License. Police Officer 

Job Description:
Smithville Police Department Officers will perform patrol, investigation, traffic regulation, crime prevention, and related enforcement activities. Knowledge of criminal, civil, juvenile and traffic laws and regulations; knowledge of City codes and ordinances; court systems and procedures; safety regulations applicable to motorized vehicles and equipment; and of radio communication; knowledge of routine vehicle and equipment maintenance. Skill and proficiency in the use of firearms, weapons, radio equipment, radar; skill in the use of a police vehicle in emergency and non-emergency situations. Must work shift work.
Minimum requirements:

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age (at time of employment), currently have a valid Texas Peace Officer License, and have a valid Texas Driver’s License. Per TCOLE Administrative Rules, dishonorable discharge from the military is a disqualification. The Personal History Statement/application has a list of other disqualifiers.
Pay Starts at $22.45 an hour, Employee Health insurance paid by City, Certificate pay, Take home car program, all equipment and uniforms provided by the City.
