Between Austin, San Antonio, Houston & Bryan/College Station
The Smithville Police Association & the Smithville Police Department Proudly Present:
The Smithville Police Association is gearing up for its annual Blue Santa drive, a program that aims to collect toys for the less fortunate children in time for Christmas. The association, a nonprofit organization formed in 2008, is looking for people interested in volunteering their time to help collect, wrap, shop for and sort toys for local children, and seek monetary and toy donations from the community.
Blue Santa was created to help bring holiday happiness to families and children throughout the City of Smithville. The SPA supports Blue Santa and believes it is all about bringing hope and joy to unfortunate families during the holidays.
The Smithville Chamber of Commerce mixer on November 17, 2016 from 5-7 pm will serve as the kick- off for Blue Santa. Attendees are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations to this event at the First National Bank located at 312 Main St in Smithville, TX.
Toys will also be collected at the Festival of Lights event held in Smithville, TX, on December 3, 2016, where the SPA will also be raising money for Blue Santa through photos with Santa at a photo booth. Up until December 18, 2016, people can also drop off toys or monetary donations at various locations around town as follows: The Smithville PD, 7- Eleven, Brookshire Bros, Dollar General, VFW, El Mexicano Grill, and Apple Lumber. These places have designated donation boxes for Blue Santa, where people can drop off toys.
A donation of any kind will be much welcomed and much appreciated. Monetary donations will help us to provide and pay for gifts for the children that were not donated. Gifts should be new and unwrapped for children between the ages of infants to 12yo. Clothing should be new for children also between infant to age 12yo.
Your much needed donation can be turned in by dropping them off, 24 hours a day, or mailing them to the Smithville PD, located at 105 NW 4th St, Smithville, TX 78957. If you are unable to drop your donation off and or need someone to pick them up, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Community Policing Officer Glenn Addison at 512-237-3228 or by email email@example.com.
