The City of Smithville is Hiring for the following positions:

Electrical Apprentice

Performs routine repairs and maintenance in an assigned craft; assists, as directed, in more complex maintenance and repair of transmission, power generation, and facilities equipment, using power and hand tools as necessary. Participates in training sessions to gain greater knowledge of craft or trade by learning the procedures, tools, use, and equipment operations. Maintains tools. Equipment and facilities used in the performance of the job duties. Performs other duties of a related nature, as assigned. High School Diploma or GED, Texas Driver’s License, work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures including heat, cold, temperature swings, and inclement weather.  Pick up an application at City Hall 317 Main St. Smithville, TX or go to our website at or call 512-237-3282 ext. 2525. Police Officer: The City of Smithville is currently seeking applications for Police Officer. Applicants must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid State Drivers’ License without a record of suspension or revocation in any state; ability to meet the Department’s physical standards. Formal application, education, and experience; offer of employment; psychological examination; drug screening. Position works on assigned shifts using own judgment in deciding course of action; is expected to handle difficult and emergency situations while patrolling the city streets, parks, commercial and residential areas.
